Richard – Director & Founder

Richard founded Longlane Architects in 2021, having gained extensive experience over his 30+ years in the designing and delivering award winning architecture. Loving to take on any architectural challenge, Richard has a comprehensive portfolio in both lead design and CDP elements helping to deliver unique buildings across London designed by world leading practices.

In the last ten years, he has led the delivery teams that have worked on the extensive façade rebuilding of the grade 2 Old War Office and extending the grade 1 Lutyens Midland bank by a full floor. The work has been across a range of uses including Hotels (The Ned and The Corinthia), Residential and Commercial (Ram Brewery and Chelsea Harbour),  New build offices, a Museum and a Secondary School.  Many of these have been on complex sites and most have included work on listed buildings. Alongside this delivery work, he has also designed and delivered several high end private residential properties and extensions.

Richard is at the forefront of all projects at Longlane architects no matter their scale and brings his expertise and knowledge to every aspect of the Architectural work. Away from the office he spends his free time long distance cycling and at the weekends enjoys getting stuck into every bit of construction down to laying bricks and digging foundations as he builds an extension to his cottage in Suffolk.
